Electronic cigarettes that are legal to smoke in public places can now be smoked at a Ware bar.
Electronic cigarettes do not include any carcinogenic substances or lead to passive smoking but give a similar satisfaction to standard cigarettes, which are now banned in public places.
The 58-year-old businessman said: “It’s not exactly the same as a cigarette but it’s as close as you can get. It cuts you back. If you go out and smoke a cigarette you smoke the whole cigarette. With this, I can take it out, have two puffs and put it back in my pocket. It only works when you puff at it.”
The three-part cigarette consists of an atomizer that converts the fluid into vapour, a chargeable battery and a cartridge, which can contain light, medium or no nicotine. Each one has around 350 puffs (about 30 standard cigarettes).
Steve Berg, the importer of this product, said: “Whereas cigarettes are made of 4,000 substances, 69 of which are carcinogenic, e-cigarettes have just nicotine, glycol, which is commonly used in food, and tobacco flavouring. The smoker absorbs the nicotine and releases a vapour, which smells slightly from the non-nicotine products. We’re not claiming it’s healthy. Nicotine is a poison. But it’s ‘healthier’ than a cigarette.”
The device has been launched in Israel, China and Australia. Mr Berg brought it to the UK in June for £34.99 a pack.
Smoker, Louise Glazer, 26, tested it and said: “It was quite heavy, but good. I think it can help your cravings.” A spokeswoman for Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) added: “They don’t produce smoke in the conventional way and therefore don’t pose the same degree of hazard to non-smokers. They are not 100 percent safe for smokers themselves as they are still inhaling nicotine, but they are almost certainly putting themselves at less risk. More research is needed to be clearer on their effect.”

Tobacco Ban
You can find pipes, cigarettes and tobacco for sale at Walgreens pharmacy. The city will issue an order banning sales of smoking products at all pharmacies.
Now Walgreen Co is asking a state court to block the ban complaining the new law is anticompetitive and unconstitutional. Walgreen Co answers prohibitions are not in place at grocery stores and whole clubs like Sam’s and Costco that also have drugstores. All 52 Walgreen chemist’s shops in the city would be affected. The city is also preparing to enact regulations that would ban the sale of tobacco products at college campuses and pharmacies aimed at reducing smoking among youth.
The San Francisco city board of supervisors in two 8-3 votes, made the city the first in the country to stop the sale of cigarettes at drugstores. The legislation is modeled on the ban already in place in eight Canadian provinces and is supported by the California Medical Association and the American Cancer Society. The legislators felt that sick people getting prescriptions filled should not be faced with health destroying tobacco products at the drugstore. Besides Boston, expect Illinois, New York, Rhode Island and Tennessee to consider tobacco-sale prohibitions this year.
The authority hopes to reduce premature death, smoking-related illnesses and the cost to public health caused by tobacco, which kills more than 1.4 million every year according to the WHO (World Health Organization).

Can Smoking Affects Athletic Performance?
In a study researchers showed that some runners still smoke and this is a bad habit for their health. They said that these runners have less to do with stretching and more to do with smoking.
Smoking is one of the biggest secrets of the fitness world and also is a serious problem, because is not talking about mall walkers who light up once a week. These are men and women who compete in marathons and triathlons and go hiking and train at the gym. And who also have a pretty steady cigarette habit.
Miguel Otero, 29, of Nashville, a regular smoker who light up as soon as he finished running, said: "I tell myself that I'm a healthy smoker because I run."
Otero has a healthy living through exercise and sticking to a vegetarian diet, but smoking away nonetheless.
According to a study 2 percent of the 2,500 people who responded said they smoked, unbeknownst to their running friends. About 4 percent said they smoked but that their running buddies know that.
"Those are two things that just don't go together," said Amy Barrow, 50, of Nashville, who gave up smoking when she was 32 and started running competitively.
She was 16 when she picked up her first cigarette, snuck out of her mother's purse or something like that, Barrow reported. Throughout her young adult life, she smoked a pack and a half of unfiltered Camel cigarettes a day.
About 1990, she took a jog with some friends from the gym and found out she was pretty good at it, bad lungs and all.
"I wondered what would happen if I quit smoking," she added.

Scientists have also found out that young unemployed women experience addiction to menthol cigarettes mostly. Quit smoking menthol cigarettes is twice harder than usual cigarettes. The recent study shows that fact.
Menthol cigarettes are as harmful as ordinary cigarettes. Specialists say that the best way to quit smoking menthol cigarettes is to shift to ordinary cigarettes and than try to quit.

Cigarettes Smoking and Tobacco
Tobacco kills smokers. This is the only product that even in small doses adversely affects health. In general, smokers die 10 years earlier than non-smokers. Smoking reduces potency, not to mention yellow skin, bad smell from mouth. Tobacco is the reason of many diseases. Smoking causes at least 90% of lung cancer, 15-20% of other cancers, 75% of chronic bronchitis and lung emphysemas, 25% of deaths from cardiovascular diseases.
Smoking damages health and kills people around the smoker. Passive smoking shortens life in average by 5 years.
Smoking kills and harms the health of children. Smoking before and especially during pregnancy, when breastfeeding greatly harms the health of child, and also increases the risk of several diseases throughout his life.
Smoking causes severe addiction, comparable in strength with heroin. According to a study of one of the world's largest tobacco companies (Imperial Tobacco, in 1989): "43% of smokers tried to quit smoking, but only 1.8% have succeeded. 72% of women who stopped smoking during pregnancy resume smoking after giving birth.
There is no safe tobacco. The impact of "light", "mild" cigarettes and other has no different from any other cigarette, it is only tobacco companies' marketing move aimed at deceiving smokers.
Marketing moves tobacco companies is extremely subtle. This advertising and entertainment at sporting events, and in colored magazines, the distribution of cigarettes in the streets, an indirect advertising in the movies. Tobacco companies intimidate owners of restaurants that smoking bans would lead to lower attendance and thus reduce profits.
Is Smoking free choice? Tobacco companies argue that smoking is a human right. Ask your friends smokers if they would like to quit smoking. Ask them what they knew about the dangers of smoking at a time when they started smoking. Ask those who live near smokers whether they are pleased to breathe cigarettes smoke and see cigarette butts under their feet.

Chewing Tobacco and Ordinary Cigarettes

Us scientists found out that smokeless tobacco contains more carcinogens and increases the risk of cancer in comparison with ordinary cigarettes.
Researchers from the Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota found that inhaling or chewing tobacco increases the number of harmful molecules that cause pancreatic tumor, nasal mucosa.
As specialists inform, smokeless tobacco is no longer a safe alternative to regular smoking, it increases the risk of cancer.

Cigarette Kills

According to Interfax, one guy tried to quit smoking many years, and desperately, cut off his right hand. Stupid act - because you can keep a cigarette with your left hand ,and a passion for smoking certainly is not in his hand, but in the head. Fortunately, doctors managed to sew his hand to its original location.

Menthol Cigarettes

As it claimed by smokers, menthol cigarettes have no unpleasant sensations in the mouth and it becomes even easier to breathe.
But this is isn't so. First of all, menthol has no effect on reducing the number of smokers breathable carcinogens, tar and toxins (there are nearly 4 thousand in tobacco smoke).
Secondly, menthol masks unpleasant feelings after the delay, while annoying receptors oral mucosa. This, in turn, leads to increased coronary vessels and bronchi.
As a result, the menthol cigarette smoker absorbs into the blood tars and nicotine much faster. This means that the effects of smoking such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and lung cancer comes faster to menthol smkers.

Are You still smoking ?
Anyone can argue that this information is’n new, but it’s up to You to read it or not.
Each cigarette pack has a warning that smoking kills, but nobody stops! And have a look on results.
It was in the UK. Fifty years ago, the English Council of Medical Research (Medical Research Council) published a scientific report, which showed that smoking can cause lung cancer.
British doctors led by Sir Richard Dollom (Richard Doll) set a goal: to compare the dangers of smoking for men whose harmful habit formed at different times, and to determine the degree of risk reduction when people quit smoking in a particular age.
They wanted to know why so many people die because of lung cancer and tried to link it with nicotine.
Sir Richard Doll - world-known researcher. He has received countless number of awards for his works.
UK scientists leaded the experiment lasted from 1951 to 2001. 34 thousand 439 men took part in it.
All of them were were born in the period between 1900 and 1930 years.
The average age of these men when they started smoking was 18 years old. On average, they have been told that to smoke up to 18 cigarettes a day.
The results of this large-scale work is now published in the British medical journal (British Medical Journal). So let’s look what happens.
Deaths from smoking is linked mainly with cardiovascular diseases, respiratory system diseases and cancer.
Those who smoked cigarettes, had died about 10 years earlier than those who had never smoked.
Nicotine addiction kills almost half of all smokers at average age of 35 to 69 years.
Immediate murderer - cancer, heart disease and stroke.
Cessation of smoking in 60, 50, 40 or 30 years, extend the life of ex-smokers, respectively, 3, 6, 9 and 10 years.
So it’s never late to quit.
In 1954, 80% of the adult population of Great Britain smoked. As of today - 26%.
But nicotine is still considered the main killer of Britons - it is responsible for one third of all deaths. Six million people have died due to tobacco for the same 50 years.
From 34 thousand 439 doctors that took part in this experiment 5 thousand 900 people are still alive, and only 134 of them are still smoking.
92-year-old Sir Richard comments:
"I can only tell people that if they enjoy their lives, then go on smoking is terribly silly."
So, do You want to smoke ?
