Cigarette Kills

According to Interfax, one guy tried to quit smoking many years, and desperately, cut off his right hand. Stupid act - because you can keep a cigarette with your left hand ,and a passion for smoking certainly is not in his hand, but in the head. Fortunately, doctors managed to sew his hand to its original location.

Menthol Cigarettes

As it claimed by smokers, menthol cigarettes have no unpleasant sensations in the mouth and it becomes even easier to breathe.

But this is isn't so. First of all, menthol has no effect on reducing the number of smokers breathable carcinogens, tar and toxins (there are nearly 4 thousand in tobacco smoke).

Secondly, menthol masks unpleasant feelings after the delay, while annoying receptors oral mucosa. This, in turn, leads to increased coronary vessels and bronchi.

As a result, the menthol cigarette smoker absorbs into the blood tars and nicotine much faster. This means that the effects of smoking such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and lung cancer comes faster to menthol smkers.

Are You still smoking ?

Anyone can argue that this information is’n new, but it’s up to You to read it or not.

Each cigarette pack has a warning that smoking kills, but nobody stops! And have a look on results.

It was in the UK. Fifty years ago, the English Council of Medical Research (Medical Research Council) published a scientific report, which showed that smoking can cause lung cancer.

British doctors led by Sir Richard Dollom (Richard Doll) set a goal: to compare the dangers of smoking for men whose harmful habit formed at different times, and to determine the degree of risk reduction when people quit smoking in a particular age.

They wanted to know why so many people die because of lung cancer and tried to link it with nicotine.

Sir Richard Doll - world-known researcher. He has received countless number of awards for his works.

UK scientists leaded the experiment lasted from 1951 to 2001. 34 thousand 439 men took part in it.

All of them were were born in the period between 1900 and 1930 years.

The average age of these men when they started smoking was 18 years old. On average, they have been told that to smoke up to 18 cigarettes a day.

The results of this large-scale work is now published in the British medical journal (British Medical Journal). So let’s look what happens.

Deaths from smoking is linked mainly with cardiovascular diseases, respiratory system diseases and cancer.

Those who smoked cigarettes, had died about 10 years earlier than those who had never smoked.

Nicotine addiction kills almost half of all smokers at average age of 35 to 69 years.

Immediate murderer - cancer, heart disease and stroke.

Cessation of smoking in 60, 50, 40 or 30 years, extend the life of ex-smokers, respectively, 3, 6, 9 and 10 years.

So it’s never late to quit.

In 1954, 80% of the adult population of Great Britain smoked. As of today - 26%.

But nicotine is still considered the main killer of Britons - it is responsible for one third of all deaths. Six million people have died due to tobacco for the same 50 years.

From 34 thousand 439 doctors that took part in this experiment 5 thousand 900 people are still alive, and only 134 of them are still smoking.

92-year-old Sir Richard comments:

"I can only tell people that if they enjoy their lives, then go on smoking is terribly silly."

So, do You want to smoke ?
